PIETRO SILVESTRONI FAMILY

 

Pietro was born in San Severino Marche, Italy on May 13, 1827.  He married Rosa Spazio,  date unknown .  Rosa was also born in San Severino on October 13,  1824.

 

They had four children:

 

                1  Gio Battista born December 26, 1848 and died ( not recorded ).

 

                2  Pasquale born May 15, 1853 died February 12, 1920.

                    Pasquale became a catholic priest and was reported to have red hair.

 

                3  Giovanni born December 27, 1854 died May 23, 1926.

                     The Sylvester’s and Silvestroni’s in the United States and Argentina are direct descendants of Giovanni.

 

                4  Annibale born August 24, 1863 died February 21, 1883.

 

All the children were born in San Severino Marche, Italy.

 

Pietro died October 1, 1898 at the age of  71 years.

Rosa died April 10, 1887 at the age of 62 years and 6 months.

GIOVANNI SILVESTRONI FAMILY

 

Giovanni was born in San Severino Marche, Italy on 13 February 1843.  He married Pacifica Giacinti ( date unknown ).  Pacifica was born in San Severnio Marche, Italy on 27 December 1854.

They had two children:

 

                1  Gio Battista born May 3, 1877 , see document p. 5. Later  the name was changed  to Gian, see document p. 7.  Gian                             emigrated to the United States.  Gian died August 17, 1966.

                2  Elvira born July 8, 1882 died March 17,1977.

                    She married Adelelmo Mataloni and lived and died in San Severino  Marche,Italy.      See family tree page 105.

   

Giovanni died in San Severino Marche on 10 Aprile 1926

Pacifica died in San Severino Marche on 23 May, 1928.

GIAN (GIO) BATTISTA SILVESTRONI FAMILY

 

Gian was born in San Severino Marche, Italy on May 5, 1877.  He married Rita Caglini on Sept.8,1895.  Rita was born in Cascia in the region of Umbria , Italy on May 22, 1878.  Her fathers name is Severino and her mothers name is Donati  Annunziata.  The Caglini family is from San Severino Marche and lived in Casia Umbria for four years while Severino  attend a school to become a baker.  See Caglini line page 78.

 

Gian occupation in Italy was a shoemaker and in U.S.A.a coal miner.

 

Gian and Rita had ten known children:

 

                1  Annibale born in S. Severino on August 4, 1896 died 1952 in West Virginia,                           USA.

               

                2  Giuseppe born in S. Severino on September 9, 1898 died January 27, 1919

                     in West Virginia, USA

 

                3  Pietro born in S. Severino on January 6, 1901 died August 2, 1901 in S.  Severino Marche, Italy.

 

                4  Pietro born in S. Severino on  November 16, 1902  died August 21, 1996 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

 

                5  Giovanni born in S. Severino on February 8, 1905 died ( August 13, 1973) in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

 

                6  Victoria Rose born in Plains Penna. USA on October 6, 1906 died in San Francisco, Calif. on April 5, 1996.

 

                7  Mary born May 18, 1908 in  Plains Penna. died April 14, 1909.  See p. 68.

 

8  Severino ( Harry ) born in Plains Penna. on January 10,1910 died in Kingston                                          

    Penna. on March 15, 1993.

 

9  Francesco born in Plains between 1910 and 1912 died a young boy.

 

10 Alfredo ( Fred ) born in Plains, Penna. on March 19, 1913 died on September                                                               

     13, 1940 in Plains, Penna.

 

11 Mary Virginia born in West Virginia on September  9, 1917.  Died in Exeter,  Pa.

   

On January 10, 1906 Gian sailed on SS Nord America  p.10 and arrived in New York harbor Ellis Island on February 1, 1906.  On pages 8&9 is a copy of the ship's manifest showing Gian Battista Silvestroni on line 11 as a passenger.  He then traveled to Luzerne county Penna. where Gian went to work in a coal mine.   His wife Rita emigrated to the United States with their sons Annibale, Giuseppe, Pietro and Giovanni  later.  They sailed on the SS La Savoie  p.10 and arrived at New York harbor at Ellis Island June 16, 1906.  On page11 is a copy of the ship's manifest showing Rita and the children listed on lines 8 through 10.

 

The Situazione Di Famiglia for Gian family indicated that the family emigrated to the Republic of Argentina.  As we known, it was only Pietro and Giovanni that emigrated to Argentina but much later, in 1928.

 

  

 

 

 

On January 5, 1914 Gian and Rita purchased three lots in Pringle Township , Penna.

On July 23, 1914 Rita and her son Pietro returned from San Severino Marche , Italy aboard the ship SS Prinzess Irene. See pg. 15.

On April 26, 1915 Gian and Rita sold one of their lots in Pringle.

On July 13, 1915 Gian and Rita sold the last two lots in Pringle.
