Colombaio#4 where Giovanni and Pacifica Silvestroni are emtombed.

The faceing wall is a list of the dead that are entombed in the floor . The square cover in the floor ,just before that wall, opens up and the bodiesare lowered into the pit with a rope. The first one in is on the bottom, the last one in is on the top. Giovanni and Pacifica are in this pit.

There are two different types of burial in this Colombio. The communal pit, if you look at the picture again on the walls left and right of the facing wall, honeycomb tombs. The honeycomb tombs measure three feet high and three feet wide and about seven feet deep. Once the body is placed inside the tomb it is then sealed off with a polished stone cover plate. The outside of the stone is carved  with the identity of the body ,date of birth and date of death.
